Is AI accessible to businesses of every size?

Practical AI no longer requires a research lab. Here is how small and mid-size teams adopt it without overreaching.

Applied AI, abstract cover

For years, applied artificial intelligence felt like the preserve of a handful of large companies with deep research budgets. That has changed quickly. Capable models are now available through simple APIs, and the tooling around them has matured to the point where a small team can ship a meaningful feature in days rather than quarters.

The real question is no longer whether you can use AI, but where it actually earns its place. We encourage teams to start with a single, well-bounded problem — a support workflow, a search experience, a document pipeline — and measure the outcome before expanding.

Done this way, AI becomes a series of small, compounding wins rather than one risky bet. The businesses that succeed are rarely the ones with the largest budgets; they are the ones that pick the right first problem and instrument it well.
